8th Art Ii Biennal Finland 2022, "Ilmassa - In the Air"
In the Air is the theme the curatorial team,
Minna Rainio, Mark Roberts and Jetta Huttunen have asked the invited artists to consider.
Artists have explored how the interconnected immateriality of air can be communicated using the methods of art,
to offer new thoughts, expressions, and perceptions, to find new ways to give sensory presence to the invisible
skies with a main focus on ecological, economical, social and cultural sustainability issues

My work Metopia Deep Signal featuring voice artist Nuria Divi, NYC, is a custom interface for air and
pollution using machine learning, for the audience to experience the materiality and presence of pollution and
electromagnetic propagation in the air and skies that we cannot see. The work is primarily interdisciplinary, combining
art, science, and technology to create new ways to explore the clouds and the air. My artistic research project Metopia
has been ongoing since 2014, exploring soundart in relation to air, pollution, and climate.
